An interactive exhibit on display is the BMW xDrive driving simulator, that gives the visitor the unique chance to experience the intelligent BMW four-wheel drive system on a test road. The virtual reality system calculates the authentic reactions of the BMW xDrive in real-time for every driving situation. By recording the respective test  drive, the visitor can see the differences between the potential effects of roadway conditions in comparison to a vehicle without the BMW xDrive.

This descriptive simulation is based on a software platform that is used for all driving simulations at BMW. Philosys is currently working on the further development of these simulators for BMW and is involved in the complex tasks that require constant adaptation as well as the testing of all electronic systems.

For the BMW World exhibit piece, Philosys assumed the responsibility of the integration, configuration and testing of all involved simulator components as well as the continuing system support while in operation.

Being the primary contact for all BMW departments and partners involved in the simulation, Philosys functioned as the central coordination unit. BMW received invaluable support from Philosys for the many complex demands up to the successful "going live".
